63rd Annual Ballon d’Or 2018 – Details and Nominations

63rd Annual Ballon d’Or 2018 will be held in Paris, France on Dec 3rd, 2018 and For the 1st time is decade, the award might go to a new player instead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. There are 30 nominees for the prestigious award and nominations were announced on Oct. 9th, 2018. The complete awards ceremony will start at 8:00 PM GMT / 3:00 PM EST. Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Edinson Cavani (PSG), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid), Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus), Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Isco (Real Madrid), Harry Kane (Tottenham), N’golo Kante (Chelsea), Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Mario Mandzukic (Juventus), Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Luka Modric (Real Madrid), Neymar (PSG), Jan Oblak (Atlético Madrid), Paul Pogba (Manchester United), Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Luis Suarez (Barcelona), Raphael Varane (Real Madrid).

For the past decade, Messi and Rolando has won the awards 5 times each. Messi has won the award in year 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2015. Rolando has won the award in year 2008, 2013, 2014, 2016 & 2017.

For the 1st time, it is being assumed that Modric, Mbappe and Griezmann are ahead of Messi and Ronaldo in the overall running and it is being predicted that he will sweep over everyone. Luka Modric has won UEFA and FIFA best player awards this year and Croatian star is expected to win Ballon d’Or as well.

For the 1st time, woman ballon d’Or will also be given for which 15 players have been nominated.
